〈釉滴／Glaze Dripping〉
釉滴は、筆いっぱいに含ませた釉薬を器に施し、重力や身体の動き、偶然の重なりによって生まれる景色です。一見すると何かを描いているようには見えない抽象的な模様ですが、だからこそ、見る人によってさまざまなものを感じ取ることができます。風景や動き、記憶、あるいはその時々の気持ち。決まったものを描かないことで、さまざまなものと交わり、寄り添うことのできる余地が生まれます。また、釉薬の動きには、作家が意図してコントロールできる部分と、重力や偶然に委ねられる部分があります。その境界でできあがる一つひとつの景色は、同じものが二つとありません。そして、それが器という具体的なかたちに施されることで、作品は暮らしの中へ入っていき、置かれる場所や使われる時間、向き合う人によって、その見え方や感じ方に変化をもたらします。釉滴に決まった答えはありません。その模様が何に見えるのか、何と重なり、何に寄り添うのか。それぞれの想像を楽しみながら、自由に感じてもらえたらと思っています。

"Glaze Dripping" are patterns created when glaze, loaded onto a brush, is applied to a vessel, resulting from the interplay of gravity, the artist’s movements, and serendipitous overlaps. At first glance, these abstract patterns do not appear to depict anything specific; yet, precisely because of this, each viewer can perceive something different in them. Landscapes, movement, memories, or even the emotions of the moment. By not depicting anything specific, space is created for the patterns to interact with and harmonize with a wide range of things. Furthermore, the movement of the glaze involves elements that I can intentionally control, as well as elements left to gravity and chance. Each scene that emerges at this boundary is unique—no two are exactly alike. And by being applied to the concrete form of a vessel, the work becomes a part of daily life. How the piece is perceived and experienced changes depending on where it is placed, when it is used, and who is looking at it. There is no single, definitive answer to “Glaze Dripping.” What do the patterns look like? What do they overlap with? What do they resonate with? I hope you’ll enjoy letting your imagination run free and experience the piece in your own way.
